Stress has also become a bit of a buzzword, and if we’re not stressed enough we’re probably not that successful either. NOT TRUE!
I know my premature grey hair is the result of stress in my 20’s and 30’s. Stress from poor diet, lack of exercise, personal challenges, and hedonistic tendencies, all took its toll. Ah, if only I knew then what I know now. If only I had the tools to manage my life and stress better, someone to ask the right questions and listen. I was directionless and had no idea where my life was heading, muddling through, surviving but not thriving. With support, guidance and space to think the process could have been much less painful and stressful. Do you sometimes just want to put the breaks on and start on a clean slate?
Stress is essential to our survival, it makes us sharper, smarter, focussed and drives us to perform at our peak. Until it doesn’t, until the reaction to the smallest upset throws you off kilter, you can’t focus, you’re sleeping patterns are all over the place, you crave junk food, your mood is a mess and you feel like you’re in downward spiral with no way out.
Here are a few questions for you to think about how you manage stress and how it affects you:
- How can your stress be turned into excitement?
- Do you need better time management or prioritise tasks differently?
- Do you have tools to help you manage your stress response?
- If you learnt ways to manage it better, how will that improve your life?
- What are the things that stresses you out regularly?
- Do you believe that stress could be the reason you’re struggling to lose weight?
If you believe that stress could be the reason your health and well-being is being high jacked, I would LOVE to teach you one incredible tool that I show all my smart, busy clients that makes a huge difference to the way they deal with stressful situations (and emotional eating)
Stress is essential, just like broccoli but too much of either just leaves you gassy, grumpy and uncomfortable!
